Overview

CQI 2 – Exploring the system for Continuous Quality Improvement is the 2nd training in the series.  It is intended for  participants from all early childhood programs such as FOCUS child care, Head Start, NM PreK, Early Intervention and Home Visiting with previous experience or exposure to the practice of professional development / reflective practice or staff who have attended CQI 1 – Starting the Path to Continuous Quality Improvement.4 hours (Equivalent to 4 STAR Leadership Academy after completion of CQI1 and CQI2) (NM Competencies: 1. 0.5 hr, 6. 2 hr, 7. 1.5 hr)

– Required for FOCUS program directors or education coordinators (CQI1=3 Star; CQI2= 4 Star; CQI3= 5 Star)

– Required for NM PreK Returning Teachers (CQI 1, 2, &3)

– Equivalent to the former Leadership Academies 

This session is designed for early childhood educators to realize their strengths and challenges in their work. This session is intended to explore the systems and resources across sectors which guide staff proficiency working within them. Participants will differentiate between personal and professional goals and explore appropriate informative sources and resources to support their growth. Please check the Downloads tab to access several materials for the training. Note: there are several modules with video that require audio so please plug in headphones or speakers and check volume settings.

NM Competencies:

2. Health Safety & Nutrition: 0.5 hr
6. Assessment of Children & Programs: 2 hr
7. Professionalism: 1.5 hr

Objective

Each section of this module has a specific learning sequence, and each sequence starts with an achievement based objective (ABO):  

  1. Achievement Based Objective (ABO) 1: By the end of this session you will have heard the history of CQI in New Mexico
  2. ABO 2:  By the end of this session you will have identified at least 1 related challenge area for Continuous Quality Improvement within your job description.
  3. ABO 3: By the end of this session you will have compiled resources based on the personal or professional challenge identified for Continuous Quality Improvement
  4. ABO 4: By the end of this session you will have established a measurable professional development goal
